How it all Began: Primorsky Aquarium construction photos on display
The most important part of each public aquarium is its live inhabitants, but the exhibits of the Primorsky Aquarium are inseparable from its unique buildings and the park around them. The half-open shell of the Main Building welcomes visitors to the underwater realm, where all elements of the exterior and interior design are carefully thought out to provide a splendid opportunity for visitors to travel through time and space.
The images presented at How it all Began Exhibition are those of the construction and landscaping of the Primorsky Aquarium from the stage of marking out of the building site up to the finishing touches on the project. The text panels and labels tell stories—actually, just a small number of a whole range of incredible stories—on how the Main Building has acquired its present appearance: who’s become a model for the Poseidon’s sculpture; what is concealed behind the landscapes on the walls and which place is the best for making a wish about love that will definitely come true.
The exhibition is dedicated to all the people who have contributed to what the Primorsky Aquarium is today: ideas people, architects, builders, artists, technicians and other specialists. Most of all, it is devoted to all our former and current staff members.
The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is situated in the gallery before the Dolphinarium; the Main Building at 25 Akademika Kasyanova Street.
