Marine riches will be shown to the EEF guests
The Primorsky Aquarium will demonstrate species diversity of the Sea of Japan/East Sea at the Far Eastern Street Exhibition in the framework of the 10th Eastern Economic Forum. In a touch–pool placed in the Primorsky Region pavilion the visitors will be able to see such sea inhabitants as sea anemones, scallops, masked greenlings, Japanese cucumaria, flatfish and many others.
“The Eastern Economic Forum will attract numerous foreign participants, and we would like to introduce them to species composition of the Sea of Japan”, says Victoria Belotserkovets, Head of the Department of the Russian Far East Marine Organisms. “That is why we have chosen the most interesting sea inhabitants of Primorsky region including such a rare specimen as an albino cucumaria for our exhibit. There will be more than 20 species of fish and invertebrates in the touch pool”.
The Sea of Japan/East Sea is considered to lack colours but it is not true: ascidians, sea anemones and starfish will add red, yellow and blue accents to the exhibit of the Primorsky Aquarium. Its biologists will eagerly answer any questions about sea inhabitants that will arouse the interest among the Forum participants and guests. In addition, the visitors will be able to go on a virtual tour of the Aquarium and watch some videos about marine life.
