New Year holidays: Aquarium’s residents awaiting visitors this coming January

During the New Year holidays, the Primorsky Aquarium will operate on a special schedule. The facility will be closed on December 31, January 1 and 2. The exhibits of Russia’s largest aquarium will open to the public again on January 3.

In the Aquarium’s lobby, visitors will be greeted by a large multimedia New Year’s tree. In addition, guests can take festive photos for their family album in front of our cozy photo backdrop.

The Dancing with Rays program, well-liked by many visitors, will be held daily at 12:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, it will be run in the Underwater Tunnel, and on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the program will take place in the Oceanic Abyss exhibit.

Throughout the holidays, you will be able to watch aquarists feed charming Baikal seals at 10:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m., and on Friday, January 6, the sessions will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. In the neighboring exhibit, dinner will be served to flightless birds -- the penguins will feast on fish at 4 p.m. every day, except for Friday, January 6, when they have a meal at 3:30 p.m.

On January 3 and 6 from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., don’t miss the chance to attend a touch tank feeding event in the Sea of Japan/East Sea exhibit, featuring marine animals found in the coastal waters off Primorye.

Please note that the New Year holidays bring more visitors than usual to the Aquarium, and we encourage you to pre-purchase tickets online to avoid long lines at the Ticket Office. Tickets go on sale a week prior to each date.
