Temporary changes in the Aquarium’s operation

The Dolphinarium at the Primorsky Aquarium will be temporarily closed to the public from March 1 due to planned repair works in the pools housing the bottlenose dolphins.

“Over the renovation period the dolphins will be moved to the stadium pool but otherwise their daily schedule will not change: training sessions will be held at their regular time, only without visitors being present there,” said Igor Kostychev, Manager of the Dolphinarium. “Timely repair will let us avoid possible problems associated with a reactive environment: salt water, especially in large volumes like in our case, adversely affects the special pool coating that is why we try to stay ahead of this process. The previous preventive repairs took place in late 2019.”

The rest of the Aquarium’s exhibits will operate as usual. During the Aquarium’s operating hours, visitors can see the vibrant Dancing with Rays program at 12:30 p.m. It is equally exciting to watch Baikal seals being trained. The sessions are conducted in the exhibit devoted to Lake Baikal at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. You can also attend a Humboldt penguin feeding at 4 p.m. (at 3:30 p.m. on Friday).
