The tourism potential of the Primorsky Aquarium has been assessed by the members of the specialized subcommission of the Russian-Chinese Commission for Humanitarian Cooperation. The delegation that visited the research and education complex consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC and the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. The Russian part of the delegation included members of the Subcommission for Cooperation in Tourism from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yakutia, Amur, Irkutsk and Novosibirsk regions, Altay, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk, Primorsky and Transbaikal territories, the republic of Buryatia and the Jewish autonomous region.
The honorary guests highlighted the richness and thoughtful composition of the Aquarium exhibits, and they were highly enthused over the skills shown by the dolphins, beluga whales and walrus Misha.
“The first things that strike you are a sheer size of the Aquarium and a great variety of marine inhabitants”, said Natalia Zhukova, Deputy Head at the Department for International Relations within the office of the governor and government of Novosibirsk region. “As we can see, the Aquarium is quite popular with the public, and I like that there are a lot of families with children here. I am very impressed not only with the exhibits but also with the area in front of the Aquarium.”
