The facility’s specialists and volunteers combined their efforts to conduct an exclusive program for residents of “Zhivaya Nadezhda” (“living hope” - translator’s note), a women’s crisis shelter located in Vladivostok’s suburbs.

27.07.2023Primorsky Aquarium is the only place in Russia to determine sex of Humboldt penguinsThe Primorsky Aquarium has hatched one more group of penguin chicks. It is the only institution in Russia that can determine the sex of penguins by molecular methods. Keepers from the Ornithology Department told us about hatching in penguins and about the process of sex identification.
In the Primorsky Aquarim visitors will be able to see large scale exhibits, which will show theories about the origin of our Universe, evolution in the ocean, and also will present current biodiversity in the fresh and salt waters of our planet. Most of the exhibits will be live ones. They will let you meet inhabitants of the Russian water zones, such as the Sea of Japan / East Sea, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Bering Sea, the Amur River, Lake Baikal and Lake Khanka, as well as inhabitants of cool polar seas, warm tropical rivers and seas, and the open ocean.
