14.08.2023 – Primorsky Aquarium runs charity event
On Saturday, August 12, the Primorsky Aquarium held a charity event called Ocean of Hope. The facility’s specialists and volunteers combined their efforts to conduct an exclusive program for residents of “Zhivaya Nadezhda” (“living hope” - translator’s note), a women’s crisis shelter located in Vladivostok’s suburbs.
10.08.2023 – Young SeaLs to appear this autumn at Primorsky Aquarium
This coming October Growing up at the Aquarium, an environmental education project run by the Primorsky Aquarium, will be expanded with a new club called SeaL. This name is an abbreviation of the phrase “sea of life”, which reflects the contents of the club’s entertaining and rich program. SeaL is aimed at children aged 12 to 13 years.

27.07.2023 – Discovery Island program results have been summed up
The first session of a new summer program for primary school students called Discovery Island has finished at the Primorsky Aquarium. Kids studied Russky Island, learned about the values of its nature, animals and plants, as well as about its history.
27.07.2023 – Primorsky Aquarium is the only place in Russia to determine sex of Humboldt penguins
The Primorsky Aquarium has hatched one more group of penguin chicks. It is the only institution in Russia that can determine the sex of penguins by molecular methods. Keepers from the Ornithology Department told us about hatching in penguins and about the process of sex identification.

21.07.2023 – Self-guided museum trail for families is under way at Primorsky Aquarium
“Follow the Trail”, a self-guided museum trail for families, is under way at the scientific and educational centre Primorsky Aquarium. Families explore several museums of Vladivostok using activity guides with questions and puzzles connecting these museums into a united education network. Primorsky Aquarium welcomes 5-8-year-old children together with their parents to enjoy a fascinating aquarium adventure, called “Secrets of nature”.
19.07.2023 – Botanical Garden helps Primorsky Aquarium to make its grounds even more beautiful
The scientific and educational centre Primorsky Aquarium, and the Botanical Garden-Institute of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEB RAS) planted saplings of a unique and rare Far East tree, ginkgo, as a sign of friendship and cooperation. On the same day, the two organizations signed a cooperation agreement.
29.06.2023 – Eyes of the Sea photography exhibition celebrates Far Eastern Marine Reserve anniversary
The Scientific and Educational Complex “Primorsky Aquarium” opened an exhibition featuring photographs of wild animals and unique natural landscapes of the Far Eastern Marine Reserve in honor of the 45-year anniversary of this protected area.

15.06.2023 – “Marine graduation” is celebrated at Primorsky Aquarium
A significant event has gathered graduates of the Growing up at the Aquarium environmental education project, their parents, students of the Crystal Bridge individualized education program and those staff members of the Primorsky Aquarium who contributed to the Growing up at the Aquarium project. The project involved more than 50 children and teens aged from 5 to 17.

08.06.2023 – Hydroacoustic studies of beluga whale sounds are under way at Primorsky Aquarium
Researchers of the Primorsky Aquarium together with their colleagues from the A.V. Zhirmunsky National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (NSCMB FEB RAS) and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) are carrying out collaborative hydroacoustic research aimed to discourage marine mammals from entering the vicinity of fishing gear.
