28.04.2022 – May holidays at Primorsky Aquarium
During the May holidays, the Primorsky Aquarium will operate on a special schedule: from May 1 through May 10, the facility will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m.
20.04.2022 – Primorsky Aquarium to celebrate World Penguin Day
On April 25th all people around the world celebrate World Penguin Day. The date is chosen because it coincides with the start of the annual northern migration of Adelie penguins. World Penguin Day aims to raise awareness about these birds and biodiversity in general. The Primorsky Aquarium is going to join the global celebration and to host a special event on Saturday, April 23rd.

02.03.2022 – “Crèche” for jellies, or How to grow a jellyfish
A new aquarium system has been set up at the Primorsky Aquarium. Specially designed aquaria have regulating valves that can finely adjust the flow rate and thus create much better conditions for jellyfish breeding.

On February 8, every visitor was able to see that Russian Science Day was a very special day for the Primorsky Aquarium, the scientific and educational center. Guests were offered a journey to the world of discoveries and breakthroughs making human life better, healthier and more comfortable.
08.02.2022 – New stingray joins Aquarium collection
A gorgeous marine predator has been added to the Primorsky Aquarium collection: this is a ribbontail stingray (Taeniura lymma) ― a species new to the scientific and educational center. The tropical fish has a striking appearance, with bright blue spots on the light brown body and huge yellow, very expressive, eyes.
03.02.2022 – Dreams come true: Why is Primorsky Aquarium so attractive to young scientists
Two important for Russian science dates, the Postgraduate Day and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science are celebrated in late January and early February. Being the largest scientific and educational complex in the Russian Far East, the Primorsky Aquarium has always been attracting young people who dream of a career in science. Alyona Nabokina, Specialist of the Animal Food Supply Department, is also an Ecology Postgraduate Student at the Institute of the World Ocean, Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). She has been studying marine communities since her second year at the FEFU.

The internationally renowned zoologist, Vasily Radashevsky, conducted a class for the teens participating in the Growing up at the Aquarium project. Admittedly, the adult attendees listened to his lecture with intense interest as well.
28.12.2021 – It is a boy: biologists determine gender of newborn shark pup and name him
There are not too many sharks in the world that have names. Among those few is a new addition to the Aquarium's family – a newborn zebra bullhead shark, which is the first individual of this species born in Russia. Our aquarists have been calling the unique baby Michael since his very birth: the shark pup has been named in memory of biologist Mikhail Streltsov

A new Lesson By the Sea project is ready to start on January 12. School students and their teachers are invited to change their classrooms for field trips to explore Primorsky Aquarium exhibits.

A baby zebra bullhead shark (Heterodontus zebra) has hatched at the Primorsky Aquarium – it is the first successful breeding of this shark species in Russia.
