07.04.2023 – Primorsky Aquarium expert studies spotted seal populations in the Peter the Great Bay
On March 29 Igor Katin, Principal Specialist of the Marine Mammal Research Station, Primorsky Aquarium, and Researcher at the National Scientific Center of Marine Biology, took to the Verkhovsky Islands together with a team of scientists. Their main goal is to monitor the population of the spotted, or largha, seal (Phoca largha).

Our guests know perfectly well that the flash on their mobile phones and cameras must be turned off when entering the Aquarium. The corresponding information on tickets, the “no flash” signs on the exhibits, the audio announcement and our aquarists politely remind visitors of the necessity to disable the flash on all of their picture taking devices. Let’s see why it is important to turn off the flash when touring a public aquarium.
13.03.2023 – Finalists of National Technology Olympiad are impressed by Primorsky Aquarium
On March 4, participants in the final round of the National Technology Olympiad hosted by Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) attended the Primorsky Aquarium. Over seventy most brilliant students from seventeen regions across the country gained an insight into the unique construction design for the facility and visited its exhibits to understand how virtual technologies and robotics would facilitate scientific research and educational attainment.
06.03.2023 – First day of spring brings long-awaited meeting with marine performers
On March 1, the Dolphinarium at the Primorsky Aquarium resumed marine mammal presentations. Our belugas, bottlenose dolphins and walrus Misha did not perform for six months, during which time the trainer team updated the program that lets the marine mammals demonstrate their amazing skills and behaviors.

06.02.2023 – Vladivostok mayor recognizes efforts of a young scientist from Primorsky Aquarium
On January 25, which is celebrated as Russian Students Day, Vladivostok mayor Konstantin Shestakov gave holiday greetings to the university students and young scientists that gathered for an award ceremony at the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum of Far East History and thanked them for the contribution they had made to science and the city’s life.
