    The Primorsky Aquarium has enlarged its collection of seahorses. The newcomers are being placed in The Sea of Japan/East Sea Exhibit, in a Large Seahorse tank (a plastic figure of a seahorse with a fish tank instead of a belly). Its former dwellers have been moved to the Sounds of Silence section where our visitors can hear different sounds emitted by the most silent sea inhabitants.

    In Misha’s repertoire there are about 40 acts, and most of them are compound. For example, the Working Out Abs act consists of four elements: the walrus weighing 800 kg turns around to the audience, lies down on its back, puts its flappers behind the head and only then starts to raise and lower itself “working out” its abs.     04.07.2018 – The Primorsky Aquarium enlarges its collection of spiny dogfish sharks

    The spiny dogfish sharks (Squalus acanthias), also known as spurdogs and piked dogfish sharks, have been caught in the area of Vostok Bay in the Sea of Japan. A small seiner carrying several specialists of the Primorsky Aquarium fished for walleye pollock and took seven spiny dogfish as by-catch.

    Now penguins are happy to learn aviary, frolic and swim. Most of the time they spend in the water, they also sleep in the pool. The water temperature is maintained within 9 - 11 degrees of heat, air - plus 13-16 degrees.
