    he stick insects (Phasmatidae family) living in the Aquarium’s Tropical Rainforest Exhibit are represented by the Annam walking sticks (Medauroidea extradentata) and the Sunny sticks (Sungaya inexpectata) originated in the Vietnam tropical forests and Philippines accordingly. They are kept at the temperature of 25-27°C.

    07.02.2018 – Chinese Fire-Belly Newts Have Had Offspring

    A baby fire belly newt is just about three weeks old today. Resettling five adult Chinese fire-belly newts (Cynops orientalis) from a terrarium to be restored, specialists revealed eggs attached to the waterweed. The plant with the eggs was immediately removed from adults – the newts being predators can eat away both eggs and larvae.

    The common sea horses (Hippocampus kuda) arrived to the Primorsky Aquarium from Taiwan. After having been quarantined in the Scientific-and-Adaptation Building, they have moved to the Japan Sea Exhibit in the Main Building.

    01.02.2018 – Continued Cooperation between NSCMB FEB RAS and Research Institutions of Republic of Korea

    Cooperation of NSCMB FEB RAS and Korea Ecology Environment Research Institute (Taejon, South Korea) started three years ago with signing the Memorandum on Cooperation between the Korea Institute and the Primorsky Aquarium. In 2017, the same agreement was concluded between the Korea Institute and NSCMB FEB RAS with the Primorsky Aquarium affiliated.

    20.11.2017 – Prymorsky Aquarium Has Explored the Beach Litter

    The project has been carried out since 2014 and so it has developed methods. Participating in the project more than once, schoolchildren expertly instructed the Aquarium’s staff in the matters of laying out the areas, sorting and categorizing the litter according to eight types such as plastic, glass, rubber, etc., and identifying countries of origin. The results of counted and weighed by the categories litter items were entered into a table.

    The Wild Edens: Russia TV series that will be broadcast on National Geographic Channel narrate and show incredible wildlife of Russia - from the south Primorsky Krai to the cold Yamal Peninsula located in the northwest Siberia.     At present, Vladivostok hosts the 9th Vladivostok International Biennale of Visual Art (VIBVA) that started 20 September and will run until 20 October 2017. The Primorsky Aquarium became one of the venues of the Biennale.
